I have taught myself differential equations, optimal control, and Choquet Integration in the process of research and independent study.

Experience

I have tutored economics, math and statistics for the last fifteen years. I began tutoring algebra in high school, then economics in college, and while in grad school I tutored calculus, economics as well as graduate-level math and statistics. I teach at the university level and love it. I have been teaching full time for 7 years and before that taught part time for a few different universities. I have taught college and graduate level courses in economics, math and statistics. As much as I love teaching, truth be told, I love tutoring even more. Everybody learns differently and at different paces and working with someone one-on-one allows for tailored learning and a relaxed learning environment. I also especially enjoy helping people gain confidence and overcome math-phobia and econ-aversion. I firmly believe in the power of practice: practice exercises are the key to mastering material and gaining confidence. My job is to gauge where the stumbling blocks are, provide appropriate exercises to work through and be a source of support and guidance.
